A Certificate of Lawfulness of Proposed Development has been granted for the proposed amalgamation of two dwellings into a single unit in Wiltshire. The building, which is identified in a neighbourhood plan as being a locally valued heritage asset would undergo internal alterations as part of the proposal. Despite the loss of a dwelling, during a time when Wiltshire faces a poor housing land supply, the Planning Officer acknowledged that there is no policy to safeguard against the loss of residential units and concluded the works would not amount to development. As such the proposal would be lawful.
Tuttle Architectural Services were instructed by the client to prepare drawings of the proposed amalgamation.
