A reminder that the Wealden Local Plan Regulation 19 consultation remains open to representations until 2 November 2026. The Council’s emerging plan is one of the few still being prepared under the legacy plan-making system, meaning it must be submitted for examination by the end of 2026.
Local Plan consultations are critically important as it provides developers and landowners the opportunity to promote sites for development to be considered for inclusion in the new Local Plan. The Council is a constrained LPA, where a balance has to be struck between ensuring the continuing need for sustainable growth with environmental assets.
