Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council have confirmed their intention to commence plan-making under the new system and have launched four consultations.

The Scoping Consultation focuses on what the new Local Plan should cover and what evidence may be required to support the process.

The Community Engagement Strategy sets out how the Council intends to consult with all parties.

A Scoping Report for the Integrated Impact Assessment sets out the likely environmental, social and environmental affects.

Finally, the Council are also inviting developers, landowners or other interested parties to identify sites considered to be suitable for future development through a Call for Sites. This will enable the council to have an up-to-date understanding of any available land in the borough which may be suitable for development.

The consultations will run for six weeks between 9 October and 20 November.

Local Plan consultations are critically important as it provides developers and landowners the opportunity to promote sites for development to be considered for inclusion in the new Local Plan. The Council is a constrained LPA, where a balance has to be struck between ensuring the continuing need for sustainable growth with environmental assets. Local Plan promotion is a key area of expertise that Master Land & Planning provides and as a company, we have successfully seen our clients’ sites allocated for development.
