We’re pleased to confirm that full planning permission has been granted for 7 new homes on a derelict commercial site in Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council.

The brownfield site is located to the north of North Waltham and was in use as a pest control facility and training centre. Following the ceasing of operations, the planning application was made as Policy SS6 supports the redevelopment of brownfield land in non-isolated locations.

The presumption in favour of sustainable development was engaged. The benefits of delivering 7 dwellings on previously development land adjacent to an existing settlement weighed in favour of this scheme, as did the economic and social benefits which flow for new housing. The proposed development was found to be acceptable in regard to its proximity to the nearby waste treatment works, will provide a suitable housing mix, is visually appropriate in this location and did not raise any further environmental or other issues.
